We are actively looking for people who want to develop their skillsets, take on new challenges, and advance their careers within the organization.We are seeking an Engineer to join our specialized Hydraulic and Water Resources Team in Vancouver to support the planning and design of infrastructure projects and Hydropower.Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare drainage plan and develop hydrologic and hydraulic models for, Road, Highway, Rail, Land Development and Transit projects
- Involve in the design of stormwater management including storage systems, LID design, storm sewer design and hydraulic grade line analysis and help prepare technical reports and memorandums.
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams regarding drainage requirements for projects
- Conduct field inspections related to the design and construction of civil projects
- Assist in completing design activities and preparing engineering drawings related to drainage and stormwater management
- Assist in designing overflow weirs, intake design, and canals.
- Delineation and hydrology for watershed management.
- Familiar with different codes and regulations for river management, culvert sizing, riprap and dykes.
- Carry out studies related to river hydraulics, such as hydrological studies, determination of design flows, sediment transport studies, floodplain mapping, etc.
- Model and simulate the hydraulics of watercourses and hydraulic installations using specialized software (1D, 2D and 3D)
- Design hydraulic installations such as spillways, retention basins, canals, bridges, culverts, penstocks, etc.
- Carry out dam safety studies
- Evaluate the impact of climate change on various infrastructures
- Estimate quantities to complete construction estimates in compliance with standardized methods and established drawings and specifications
- Assists with proposal preparation and business development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university or postgraduate Degree in Water Resources
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in water resources, preferably in an engineering consulting environment
- Professional Engineer in British Columbia (P.Eng.) licence or must be eligible to obtain
- Good knowledge and experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modelling software specifically HEC-RAS
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, Word, and Excel
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
