Salary: $85,742-$107,172 (To commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN compensation policy)
Closing Date: October 29, 2024Position SummaryThe Service Leader, Medical Imaging, is a working Technologist who provides service coordination and leadership in a departmental Group.Duties:

  • Regular duties of a medical engineering technologist
  • Workload distribution (e.g., unscheduled and schedule maintenance)
  • Setting staff priorities
  • Ensuring work is accomplished in a timely fashion and in compliance with department standards/systems
  • Monitor and maintain image quality of the equipment and providing guidance and direction to optimize equipment support
  • Works closely with clinical users to provide technical support, and ensures a high level of responsiveness to their needs
  • Initiate and collaborate in research and development projects
  • Perform cross-functional duties as requested and perform other duties consistent with the job classification, as required.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a 3-year community college program in Biomedical Engineering Technology, Electronics Technology or recognized equivalent required
  • Over 8 years up to and including 10 years practical and related experience and/or on-the-job training required
  • Membership in the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) or other equivalent provincial technology association is an asset.
  • Certification as a Biomedical Engineering Technologist CBET(C) through the ACI is an asset.
  • Membership in provincial or national clinical/biomedical engineering society (e.g. Clinical Engineering Society of Ontario (CESO), Canadian Medical and Biological Engineering Society (CMBES) is an asset.
  • Knowledge of electronic circuit troubleshooting and computer networking
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a team environment and build a cohesive team
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and in writing
  • Demonstrated ability to address issues with analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to deal courteously with vendors, colleagues, hospital staff and equipment users in stressful situations.
