We are currently looking for a Content Marketing Specialist for Cannabis NB. As the Content Marketing Specialist, you play a key role in the execution of CNB’s brand, marketing and corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategies, by connecting with various audiences and across platforms and channels to support Cannabis NB’s brand promise. In this role, you will work collaboratively within the Brand & Marketing team and cross-functionally within the business. You will strategize, plan, create and execute on CNB’s content needs and measure the effectiveness of content at regular intervals.You will lead content creation for owned, social and paid channels, including but not limited to the following: social media, website(s), e-mail newsletters and in-store point-of-sale (POS). You will also build, maintain and execute content schedules (workbacks) and calendars and ensure successful implementation of all content plans, which ladder up to Cannabis NB’s content strategy.While this role supports content creation for physical assets, like POS, you have deep experience and expertise in digital marketing channels, digital strategy and best practices – this is where your passion lies. At the same time, you’re always learning and diving into what’s going on in culture and you understand how to harness immediate opportunities to break through and meaningfully connect with our audiences.While this is a remote role, you love working collaboratively, as part of a high-performing team. You’re intrinsically driven by being a part of working towards our brand purpose, business objectives and supporting our strong workplace culture here at CNB.Responsibilities include:Developing and maintaining – in a collaborative way – the social media strategy and content strategies, ensuring strategy creation is based on research and insights to effectively support business goals and ladders up to business strategies (brand, marketing, CSR) and our brand purpose.Building, maintaining and executing workback schedules and content calendars; proactively managing the content calendar to ensure timely delivery of content across all channels, adhering to brand voice and style guidelines.Clearly communicating plans, potential risks and opportunities that can impact the brand and the customer experience.Packaging up content for approval in a way that is efficient and demonstrates a connection to strategy and KPIs.Writing engaging and compelling copy and content that helps build the brand and achieve business goals; leverage all available data and insights to craft messaging that resonates with key target audiences / customer segments.Creating short- and medium-form content (static and video-based) for social media, weekly customer email newsletters, in-store POS (digital and physical) and website content as required.Ensuring accurate content is displayed on third party sites, including, but not limited to: Google Maps, Bing, Apple Maps, event listings, etc.Proof-reading, editing and a strong attention to detail.Work collaboratively with our Communications Team to support transcreation / translation of content.Providing clear, brand-aligned creative direction to the design team or an external creative partner and creating visuals for digital content within design programs (e.g., Canva, etc.).Coordinating the production of content within the team, or with external creative partners, as required.Working within a variety of programs to execute content, including but not limited to: Meta, Sprout (or similar), BrightSign (or similar), MailChimp (or similar) GA4 and website content management systems.Regularly monitoring and analyzing KPIs to evaluate the effectiveness of digital marketing efforts and optimize strategies for better results; regularly presenting reports to the marketing team and the Director, Brand and Marketing.Social media community management, including outreach, responding to questions, messages and inquiries in a quick and timely manner and always Cannabis NB’s brand tone and voice to build strong relationships and positive experiences with our communities.Staying updated on industry trends (retail, cannabis, social media, etc.), consumer behaviours, cultural insights and emerging marketing technologies.Being solutions-focused and bringing recommendations and opportunities to the team in a timely manner.Assist with other marketing initiatives and projects as needed, demonstrating flexibility and willingness to contribute to the overall success of the marketing team and the company.Experience & qualifications:Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.Bilingualism in both official languages is considered an asset.At least 5 years of proven experience in digital marketing, content creation, or similar roles within the retail or CPG industries, or marketing agency.Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft compelling and engaging content for various channels and formats.Proficiency in using digital marketing tools and platforms, as noted above, and Microsoft Office’s suite of products – Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, etc.Creative thinker with a strategic mindset and the ability to translate marketing objectives into effective content strategies and tactics.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and liaise with cross-functional teams.Detail- and results-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills, capable of managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.You’re a natural at managing your time and staying organized.You have a customer service mindset.You’re a fast learner and curious by nature – you’re known for asking great questions.Working Conditions:Must be 19 years of age or olderMust be willing to travel to our locations across New Brunswick when needed for meetings and events; note that some events may take place after the business day / on weekendsRemote (must be based in New Brunswick at time of employment)Valid driver’s license and clean driving abstract is required.About Cannabis NBCannabis NB manages retail cannabis sales for New Brunswick, providing a range of safe, legal products.
