The instructor is responsible for the administration and in-person delivery of ENGN 2005, Dynamics on the Truro campus in the Winter 2025 semester. The part-time academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the class, including lectures, labs, tutorials, test preparation, and evaluation. Student contact through virtual or in-person office hours will also be required. The position reports to the Department Chair.The Truro campus Winter 2025 offering of this course is scheduled to take place in-person lectures on Mondays and Wednesdays, 13:05-14:25 and labs on Thursdays, 14:35-17:25.The dynamics course represents the second course in the study of engineering mechanics. Topics include kinematics, kinetics, work and energy, and linear and angular impulse momenta of a single particle and of rigid bodies in planar motion. There will be some computer applications wherever appropriate.
Qualifications/Requirements of PositionThe successful candidate should have a Professional Engineering (P.Eng) or Engineering-in-Training designation and a graduate degree in Engineering or equivalent academic and industry experience. Candidates must have a strong background and interest in teaching, good communication skills, and the ability to work as a team member. Experience using a learning management system is considered an asset. Dalhousie University uses Brightspace as its LMS.
Salary Range/Pay Rate Per CUPE Collective Agreement
