The departments within the School are located on our Grande Prairie campus and our Fairview campus. The School offers a variety of programming in Fine Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, Sciences, and Animal Health Technology. Through this programming, we offer a variety of certificates, diplomas, university transfer courses, as well as a degree in computing science.The Humanities and Social Sciences Department requires a Psychology Instructor to teach the following courses

  • EP3020 – Learning and Development in Childhood
  • PY1040 – Basic Psychological Processes
  • PY3470 – Psychology of Gender

These courses may be offered to one or several individual instructors. This part-time sessional position will commence on January 1, 2025. Evidence of successful instruction of undergraduate courses in Psychology is an asset. Necessary skills and attributes to be successful in this role include:

  • Candidates must be able to apply different instructional strategies to meet the needs of students with different learning styles;
  • Knowledge of current educational technologies (e.g., videoconferencing, learning management systems) is desired;
  • Knowledge of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls to Action;
  • The ability to teach both online and classroom-based courses;
  • Student-focused;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to build strong relationships across the organization; and
  • A high level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
