- Partner, lead and develop the long term Human Resources strategy that will include compensation, performance management, recruitment, leadership and employee development, succession planning with an emphasis on elevating the employee experience in alignment with the Strategic Plan.
- Elevate the people-centered culture that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates employees by fostering an inclusive work environment.
- Develop and implement an “employer of choice” strategy that is focused on the organization’s vital role in the community.
- Lead the health, safety and wellness strategies promoting a psychological safe environment for everyone.
- Embrace, encourage, and model behaviours that elevate Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging as a core value and principle.
Human Resources Operational Excellence
- Lead and manage the day-to-day human resources functions, including but not limited to labour relations, employee engagement, compensation and benefit administration, occupational health and safety, and policy administration.
- Maintain a Human Resources Information System (HRIS) including the data collection and regular reporting of organizational-wide performance measures.
- Participate as a key contributor to an employee relations strategy that cultivates trust, accountability, individual participation, and commitment.
- Develop tools and resources to support the leadership team in driving employee engagement across the organization.
- In liaison with the leadership team, design, implement and manage organization-wide effective leadership, employee development, and talent management initiatives to address capacity/knowledge gaps among staff.
- Lead and manage positive labour relations by partnering with employees and the union in the best interests of the clients and communities served.
- Prepare monthly reports on KPIs, trends, risk management, outcomes, and action plans regarding organizational development and performance scorecard.
Strategic Recruitment
- At all levels, innovate and implement talent management strategies across the organization to attract, retain and engage new hires.
- Develop the recruitment strategy that will bring top talent who are aligned with the mission, vision and values of the organization.
RequirementsTALENTS & EXPERTISE
- Post-secondary education with focus on Human Resources Management.
- CHRP/CHRL designation is required.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in a Human Resources leadership role with a demonstrated ability to lead with strategic foresight.
- Extensive labour relations experience combined with exposure to negotiations and managing grievances.
- Not-for-profit, government-funded agency experience is a strong asset.
- Philosophy of fairness, equity, and accountability in your approach to human resources.
- Strong and extensive knowledge of up-to-date human resources practices, trends, and legislation (Federal and Provincial Employments Standards, Occupational Health & Safety, Human Rights, etc.)
- Experience in advising senior management in a strategic capacity while providing effective coaching on all HR related matters.
- Provide and maintain an acceptable Criminal/Vulnerable Sector Record.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office suite applications and human resources information systems.
- A solid understanding of the importance of diversity, equity and inclusion and a passion for promoting and increasing initiatives within the workplace.
