This position will involve hands-on laboratory work, including the design, execution, and optimization of microwave-based experiments relevant to materials processing and mining applications. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of innovative technologies aimed at improving the efficiency, sustainability, and environmental impact of industrial processes.Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and conduct experimental research related to microwave processing of rocks and ores.
  • Operate and maintain specialized microwave equipment and instrumentation.
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data, prepare technical reports and research publications.
  • Collaborate with faculty members, graduate students, and industry partners on research projects.
  • Ensure laboratory safety standards and protocols are adhered to.
  • Assist in the development of research proposals and grant applications.
  • Contribute to knowledge transfer activities such as presentations and technical workshops.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Mining Engineering with expertise in rock microwave technology.
  • Hands-on experience in leading laboratory experiments in academic settings.
  • Proven ability to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot mechanical systems, with hands-on experience in relevant industrial or laboratory settings.
  • Strong expertise in instrumentation, data acquisition, and sensors.
  • Experience with microwave systems and related experimental setups.
  • Strong analytical skills, including data processing and interpretation.
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative research environment.
  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
  • Familiarity with lab safety procedures and best practices.
  • Must have at least 5 years experience in rock mechanics
