Login to your McGill Workday account and apply to this posting using the Find Jobs report (type Find Jobs in the search bar).Research Assistant for the SSHRC IDG project “Informal learning for sustainability in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) programs: Navigating emotions and identities to develop relational competencies.”Research assistant will be responsible for participant recruitment, instrument development, survey distribution, survey data collection, social network data analysis, recruitment of participants to qualitative study, and collection and analysis of qualitative data. RAs will be expected to work collaboratively to explore and synthesize data on affect and identity in informal learning for sustainability, and social networks for affective relations in social and environment sustainability work.Qualifications Required:· You are pursuing an MA or PhD degree in Education, Environment, Science, or Engineering.· You have experience and enthusiasm for quantitative or qualitative data collection and analysis· You are motivated to learn independently about new quantitative analysis of social network data· You care about informal learning for university students.· You have experience engaging in sustainability education either formally or informally· You care about social justice, and you are committed to putting equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) intopractice.· You have demonstrated leadership experience in university or community-based learningenvironments and/or coordination of collaborative projects,· You are motivated to work independentlyADDITIONAL SKILS AND QUALIFICATIONS WE CONSIDER IMPORTANT:· Experience with qualitative data collection and analysis· Knowledge of and enthusiasm for sociocultural theories of affect and identity in science learning · Experience in informal learning for sustainability in higher education contexts · Discussion facilitation experience and skillsHourly Salary: $25.00Hours per Week: 10 (Part time)Location: Education BuildingSupervisor: Associate ProfessorPosition Start Date: 2024-12-01Position End Date: 2025-05-30Deadline to Apply: 2024-12-08This position is covered by the Association of McGill University Research Employees (AMURE) collective agreement.McGill University hires on the basis of merit and is strongly committed to equity and diversity within its community.
