Business Analyst III = 6 Months Hybrid opportunity with TD.Multiple Project Assignment focused on Securities and Trade Settlements1. Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
Lead Stakeholders: Work with a diverse range of stakeholders, adapting communication style to meet their needs.
Ongoing Communication: Provide regular updates on project progress and address concerns from stakeholders and partners.
Escalation and Problem Resolution: Address and escalate any concerns or issues from stakeholders and partners at all levels.Collaboration: Engage with internal and external business partners to improve operational efficiency.2. Business Requirements Management
Gather and Elicit Requirements: Use various elicitation techniques to gather, probe, and analyze business requirements from stakeholders.
Document and Validate Requirements: Ensure that business requirements are well documented and validated with stakeholders.
Scope Management: Identify scope changes and analyze their impact on the project’s benefits and risks.
Requirements Traceability: Ensure full traceability of business requirements and prioritize them to meet business needs.
Business Need Definition: Work with business leaders to define the problem statement and strategic objectives.3. Project Leadership and Delivery
Lead Project Deliverables: Take ownership of project deliverables related to business requirements, ensuring they meet customer and business needs.
Change Management: Apply change management practices such as stakeholder analysis and gap analysis to ensure smooth transitions.
Mitigate Risks: Proactively identify, manage, and mitigate risks and issues related to requirements and project delivery.
Work Package Management: Own and complete specific work packages for operational readiness, ensuring deadlines are met and priorities adjusted as needed.4. Process Improvement and Operational Efficiency
Review Processes for Improvement: Constantly review processes to identify opportunities for improving efficiency and effectiveness.
Operational Readiness: Ensure the business is ready for operational change by preparing relevant work packages and collaborating across stakeholders.5. Compliance and Governance
Adhere to Project Governance: Ensure projects meet performance, quality, and compliance standards as defined by the enterprise’s governance framework.
Financial Responsibility: Own cost estimation efforts and manage project requirements to ensure budget and timeline are met.
Project Change Requests: Analyze and assess change requests, determining their impact on the project’s requirements and overall business benefits.6. Financial Management
Cost and Timeline Management: Forecast, define, and manage the requirements effort, including cost and timeline impacts from project changes.
Support RFI/RFP: Assist in the Request for Information (RFI) or Request for Proposal (RFP) processes with vendors, if needed.
Seed Funding Request: Contribute to the development of the seed funding request by ensuring the project scope and benefits are clearly articulated.7. Quality Assurance and Testing
Support Testing: Contribute to quality assurance activities, including the development of test scripts and participation in the testing process.
Issue Resolution: Communicate testing issues and resolutions to ensure the developed solutions meet business requirements.8. Post-Implementation Support
Post-Implementation Activities: Support post-implementation activities, ensuring solutions are delivered as planned and business needs are fully met.Must Have:Business Analyst Experience:Proven experience in business analysis, including requirements gathering, process mapping, and data analysis.
Capital Market Experience:Familiarity with financial markets, including equity, debt, commodities, derivatives, and other financial instruments.
Back-office Experience:Experience in back-office operations such as trade processing, settlement, reconciliations, and other operational functions.
Banking Experience:A strong background in banking operations, either in retail or investment banking.
SWIFT Knowledge:Understanding of SWIFT messaging protocols, which are used for financial communication, including payment instructions and securities transactions.
Securities Operations Experience:Knowledge of securities transactions, including trade settlement, clearing, and custodial services.
Settlements Experience:Experience with trade settlements, including both domestic and international transactions.
Accounting/Finance Operations Experience:Exposure to accounting and finance operations, such as financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, or managing financial statements.
Nice to Have:TD Experience:
Experience with Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD) or familiarity with its systems and processes.Python:
Knowledge of Python programming for data analysis, automation, or integration purposes.PowerBI Experience:
Familiarity with PowerBI for data visualization, reporting, and dashboard creation.Book of Record Experience:
