Huawei Canada has an immediate contract opening for a technical strategic planner.About the team:The Intelligent Cloud Infrastructure Lab aims to innovate technologies, algorithms, systems, and platforms for next-generation cloud infrastructure. The lab addresses scalability, performance, and resource utilization challenges in existing cloud services while preparing for future challenges with appropriate technologies and architectures. Additionally, the lab aims to understand industry dynamics and technology trends to create a robust ecosystem.About the job:Discover new domains and opportunities. For example, in a certain industry direction, keenly discover new evolution directions and make breakthroughs in business models (based on the three-layer model and business model of the cloud).Make effective and in-depth insights and provide planning suggestions, such as how to grasp the new technology, what kind of team should be configured, and how to develop or acquire (cooperate with external parties) these technologies, so as to enter the new opportunity and gain technical competitiveness.Complete the initiation of the technical project, build up the technical team of the direction, apply for resources, and effectively complete the technical planning layout. and finally import the output results to the product for implementation. (Incubate new cloud service products or solutions, and tool systems)The target annual compensation (based on 2080 hours per year) ranges from $100,000 to $180,000 depending on education, experience and demonstrated expertiseAbout the ideal candidate:PhD or Masters in Computer Science or related field/relevant industry experience in system software development.Gain insights into the technical development trend of the industry, identify new opportunities, and provide technical planning suggestions.Industry or research experience working on cloud storage and AI Infrastructure related projectsActively promote technical cooperation with external partners and help quickly fill the gaps in related technologies.Promote cooperation with third-party business analysis organizations to help increase Huawei’s influence in the industry.
