The Redpath Belleville plant is a blending and packaging operation producing a variety of sugar containing products for customers in Canada and the U.S. The plant operates state of the art high speed mixing and packaging systems supported by high level safety, quality and logistics systems.

OVERVIEW

Champion and monitor QA execution by liaising with other management team members to ensure superior performance of the Redpath facility in Quality Assurance, SQF, QMS and HACCP management.

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the SQF Practitioner, PCQI and HACCP Coordinator for the site.

  • Oversee the organizing, planning, and execution of all Quality Assurance related activities.

  • Work with Plant Operations and Supply Chain to implement realistic and effective strategies for continuous improvement opportunities.

  • Coordinate and oversee third-party audits including but not limited to regulatory officials (i.e. FDA, CFIA) SQF, ISO17025, GFCO, Rainforest Alliance and Kosher certifying bodies.

  • Responsible for the coordination of the recall procedure and mock traceability exercises; serve as a backup.

  • Maintain SQF certificate by ensuring plans are up to date including prerequisite, Quality, HACCP and Food Safety Plans.

  • Administers responses, CAPA’s and investigation for consumer/customer complaints.

  • Plans and manages the QA budget to ensure compliance to financial targets.

  • Monitors the microbiological programs and all other lab analysis both contracted and non-contracted analysis to ensure the accuracy of the testing and integrity of results.

  • Oversees the execution of training for all employees at the site.

  • Responsible for maintenance of Redzone datasheets and ensuring checks are being performed.

  • Work with the Plant Team and Sales on new product development.

  • Issuing of customer finished product positive release and other customer related business needs i.e. generation and administration of Certificate of Analysis, customer related questionnaires, allergens and other allergy related information.

  • Assessing for continuous improvement, managing and coordinating external service providers in Sanitation, Laundry and Calibration.

  • Responsible for the Crisis Management plan and overseeing the Food Defense Plan.

  • Support Supplier Quality and customers on the approval of raw materials and supporting documentation.

  • Uphold Allergen Program and provide support during changeovers.

  • Performs other duties as required by Management

  • Training and employee development

    RELATIONSHIPS/INTERDEPARTMENT LIAISONS :

  • Internal Liaison with other Departmental members on all Quality Assurance activities

  • Internal Liaison with sales and marketing team on new product development initiatives and implementation of customer requirements in the plant.

  • External liaison with Customers on positive release, supplier evaluations, consumer complaints, new product developments

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :

  • A University or College Degree in a Scientific Discipline

  • At least 3 years of management experience with exposure to a food processing environment

  • Computer training in MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint, MS Teams

  • Preventive Control Qualified Individual
