Title: Architecture Roles & Responsibilities Project Manager
Location: Montreal (day 1 onboarding onsite/in-office presence required 3x/week)
12 Months ContractLooking for 7-10 years of experience
- Top skills:
- Someone with financial services industry
- Exposure to architecture projects
- Agile and hands on JIRA experience
- Sr stakeholder management experience – good communication skills, providing stakeholders updates, presentations on status of project,
- Someone with risk/governance background
- Interview: onsite interview in Montreal where they’ll meet with local teammates. For other round, the candidate will speak with 2-3 panelists during the allotted time to accommodate the different time zones.
- Minimum 7 years of experience
- The team is running a pilot that is trying to formalize architecture roles within MS and across its different divisions. The PM will be responsible for these pilots. They’ll also contribute to the content they have. PM will work with project timelines and won’t be dealing with budgets or building solutions.
- Any background in financial services (wealth, investment) is a big asset. Not looking for an SME, but someone who understands the regulatory aspect, risk/governance across the financial industry.
- Agile methodology is also useful because that’s what’s used at MS.
- Emphasis is more on the architecture than the technology (how are architectural reviews conducted, ADRs). How do you bring this to a larger team and ensure that this has been recorded, debated? Needs to understand what a good architecture looks like.
- Would prefer someone who has a PM background. Not expecting the person to be a practicing architect for the last 8-10 years although base knowledge is good – i.e. what are patterns, how are they used, what are good architectural practices? They need to know how to work with architects and teach them how to get roles and responsibilities articulated, how to apply it and how to formalize the architecture roles.
- Team is spread across NY (and other US east coast states as most stakeholders are there), UK and MTL.
