The Opportunity:

As a Strategic Development Lead (Director), you will play a pivotal role in driving client strategy, revenue growth, and quality improvement initiatives. This position requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in business development, client relationship management, and process optimization.

In this role, building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients in Central and Easten Ontario will be a key part of your responsibilities, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded. You will have the opportunity to develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets, monitor and analyze sales performance, and provide insights and recommendations for improvement.

What you can expect to do here:

  • You will collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement comprehensive client strategies.

  • You will analyze market trends and client needs to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.

  • You will be pivotal in pricing decisions and responsible for the oversight of financial performance, including monitoring profits and losses. You will play a key role in change control and financial review to ensure projects remain profitable.

  • You will build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.

  • You will manage budgets for teams, large projects, or multiple small/closely related projects. You will establish and recommend changes to processes, procedures, and policies that impact immediate operations.

  • You will develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.

  • You will monitor and analyze sales performance, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.

  • You will oversee the utilization of resources, ensuring that projects are staffed appropriately and that resources are used efficiently.

  • You will lead initiatives to enhance service quality and client satisfaction.

  • You will implement process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

  • You will monitor and evaluate the impact of quality improvement initiatives, making adjustments as needed.

  • You will lead and manage a team of direct reports, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.

  • You will develop and implement strategic plans to achieve company goals and objectives.

  • You will oversee the day-to-day operations of the team, ensuring high performance and productivity.

  • You will foster a positive and collaborative team culture.

  • You will guide and mentor employees at all levels, providing advice to senior leadership on complex and strategic issues. You will often manage and oversee professional and technical jobs within your functional area.

  • You will monitor and evaluate team performance, providing regular feedback and conducting performance reviews.

What you will bring to WSP:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in strategic development, business development, or a related role within the construction industry.

  • Established and strong relationships with contractors, developers, builders, and municipal clients.

  • A proven track record of developing and executing successful client strategies.

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

  • Proficiency in CRM software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
