Visit us today and check out to see why more people from across the globe are moving here.About the OpportunityUnder the general supervision of the laboratory physicians, the Polysomnographic (PSG) Technologist provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders. This includes polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and patient care and education. The Polysomnographic Technologist scores and analyzes collected data and prepares summarized reports for interpretation by the sleep laboratory physicians. The PGS Technologist is actively involved in the education of affiliate learners (i.e. medical students, residents, PhD students, visiting physicians, sleep fellows, home care employees and respiratory therapy students). The PSG Technologist participates in a variety of ongoing research protocols.About YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Grade 12 diploma
- Must be committed to writing the Board of Registered Polysomnographists registry exam to achieve Registered Polysomnographist Technologist (RPSGT) designation
- Experience working in a medical setting
- Must have current cardiopulmonary resuscitation BLS-C
- Must have completed learning modules and objectives as set out by the American Association of Sleep Technologist
- Must be able to complete the set objectives of the practical experience as part of the training program
- Knowledge regarding normal physiology, anatomy, and pathological states (commit to independent study outside of work hours to prepare for registry exam)
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
