About the Team
DoorDash is seeking an Engineering Manager with a strong platform mindset to lead the Gateway Platforms team. Our mission is to create a next-generation, highly scalable, and reliable API enablement and business platform that fuels the growth and velocity of DoorDash’s engineering organization. Our gateway platform serves as a vital hub between application and backend services, empowering product developers to seamlessly implement business logic at the edge with minimal effort and code, freeing them from the need to own or deploy their services. You will be an influential part of our journey building a next-generation cutting-edge platform to accelerate DoorDash’s growth.
About the Role
As the Engineering Manager for the Gateway Platforms team, you will lead a group of skilled backend engineers in developing impactful features for our scalable platforms. You will work closely with cross-functional partners to execute a strategic roadmap that implements essential features requested by customers, enhances developer productivity, and improves service availability and quality. Your leadership will ensure the exceptional quality of service our platform delivers to engineers across the organization while also shaping the team’s technical vision for the future.
The team is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of the gateway platform that various teams build upon. This role combines technical expertise, strategic thinking, and a passion for developing highly scalable, reliable, and customer-centric solutions in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. B.S., M.S., or PhD. in Computer Science or related field

4+ years of experience in people management, leading backend and platform teams
-
8+ years of industry experience

You bring a strong product sense and can be a thought partner with cross-functional peers

Experience selecting and adopting web technologies to improve testing and performance

A customer-centric mindset and will apply that to building out platform services
