Our Geography
Brock University’s Teacher Education Program is located on two campuses. The main campus is situated atop the Niagara Escarpment, within a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, overlooking the city of St. Catharines, in the heart of Niagara wine country. Brock University’s second campus is in the City of Burlington, with ready access to the surrounding city and the QEW.

About the Position
The Faculty of Education invites applications for an Instructional Limited Term Appointment in the Department of Educational Studies in Teacher Education Foundations and Field Experience in the Intermediate/ Senior (I/S) division. The position involves teaching I/S courses in Professionalism, Law and Principles of Teaching in Ontario, Professional Collaborative Communities, and related practicum courses, as well as teaching and leadership in teacher education foundations. The three (3) year appointment, subject to budgetary approval, will commence July 1, 2025.
The successful candidate will have a Doctorate in Education with a focus on pedagogy, curriculum and/or teacher education. Experience teaching at the I/S level is essential and experiences as an associate teacher, curriculum leader, and/or school administrator will be considered assets.
Preferred candidates will have: (1) experience in university teaching and curriculum development in face-to-face and blended learning environments, particularly in teacher education foundations and courses that support teacher candidates in field experiences; (2) experience teaching at the Intermediate/Senior level ; (3) evidence of strong connections with local school boards and communities in the teacher education field; and (4) leadership experience. An OCT certification is desirable.
The successful candidate will teach and lead I/S teams in Professionalism, Law and Principles of Teaching in Ontario, and Professional Collaborative Communities along with each courses’ associated practicums. Additional I/S teacher education courses may include Teaching, Research and Educational Inquiry; School and Society; and Student Assessment. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to decolonization, reconciliation, anti-racism, and social and ecological justice issues within teacher education preservice learning contexts in course design, research endeavours, and teaching. They may be eligible to teach a limited number of sections in other programs including the M.Ed, but will not be eligible for Doctoral or Masters supervision as the main supervisor.
