Purpose of the Role

We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain professional to lead Canadian Supply Operations and drive the change needed to support Diageo Canada’s ambitions with evolving customers and consumer needs.

The ideal candidate will have proven ability to lead change within supply chain operations and a strong track record of delivering against strategic objectives while maintaining high standards of execution. They will have experience managing multiple supply chain functions with a focus on both execution and continuous improvement, as well as exceptional leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and partners.

The successful candidate will lead key Canadian Supply functions, including Customer Operations, VAP (Value Added Packaging), Demand & Supply Planning, Bailment Inventory Planning, and Ontario Keg Beer Distribution. They will also orchestrate supply chain dependencies across Logistics, Conversion, Innovation, and Finance.

Role Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

Leadership Responsibility:

Provide Supply Chain Leadership for the Canadian business and your team, this role represents Supply as part of the Canadian Leadership Team. In addition to having a voice in the execution of annual plans, you will be expected to help shape the culture of Team Canada and provide an amplified leadership across the wider Canadian organization and North American Supply team.

Management Responsibility :

  • 4 Direct reports with a total team of 40+ (combination of salaried & hourly team members)

  • Site lead to Dunwin Kegging warehouse and delivery for the entire Ontario region

Keys to Success :

  • Ensure continuity of supply and efficient interaction of all Demand and Supply elements for Canada.

  • Lead cross-functional strategic programs aimed at improving the total supply chain.

  • Communicate proactively with all key partners regarding the status of the Canadian Supply Chain.

  • Upgrade competencies within the group and organization.

  • Develop and implement optimized Canadian supply chain strategies in collaboration with wider North America Supply.

  • Build effective partnerships with Liquor Boards, Government, and trade bodies.

  • Sponsor strategic projects aimed at improving customer service levels, reducing operating costs, or decreasing order fulfillment lead-time.

Complexity of Role:

  • Ontario Guinness KEGs – lead all operational aspects of KEG warehousing and delivery in Ontario (including P&L management, Customer Service desk, LCBO relationship, Compliance and Health & Safety)

  • Champion the implementation of Integrated Business Planning (IBP) with all functions of the Canadian business Unit.

  • Run S&OP cycle with responsibility of both Demand and Supply Planning functions

  • Embed recent and future Supply Planning systems

  • Co-Lead the integration of a known tequila brand into the Diageo Canada BU.

  • Manage Canadian Inventory profile of over $50M

  • Partner with both Diageo and 3rd Party Manufacturing with a Supply Plan that delivers the Canadian Sales plan

  • Development of Specific “Regional Playbooks” including ways of working with each Liquor Board

Experience / skills required:

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Preferred MBA or business degree.

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in operations and supply chain management.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain strategy development and execution.

  • Proven ability to influence and network within a matrixed organization.

  • Comfortable working through ambiguity and being the leader to set direction and vision

  • Strong leadership skills with experience in building, managing, and evolving teams; credibility at senior levels is essential.

  • Innovative problem-solving abilities to address business challenges.

  • Expertise in Advanced Planning Systems (APS) and ERP systems (SAP preferred).

  • Thorough understanding of forecasting and inventory planning processes; knowledge of MPS/MRP (Master Production Schedule/Material Requirements Planning) and DRP (Distribution Requirements Planning) methodologies is beneficial.
