The University of Rhode Island’s Feinstein College of Education seeks applicants for a non-

tenure-track clinical assistant professor in early childhood teacher education. This is a full-

time, nine-month appointment beginning in Fall 2025, with a two-year appointment with

possibility of renewal. The primary responsibilities include teaching early childhood teacher

education courses, supervising practicum and/or residency experiences, assisting in program

coordination, conducting practice scholarship, and engaging in service.

Additional duties will include developing and maintaining collaborative and

professional partnerships with local schools and districts as well as with URI’s

Child Development Centers (CDC) in Kingston and Providence.

The search committee is particularly interested in candidates who, through

their teaching, practice scholarship, and/or service, will enhance the

College’s commitment to equitable educational practices and academic excellence.

The University of Rhode Island is a research-intensive university (Carnegie R1 research

classification, as of January 2025) with a commitment to high-quality teaching and

community partnerships. The Feinstein College of Education is a community of

educational scholars, leaders, and practitioners with a shared commitment to

enhancing equity and inclusion within and outside of schools, bridging research

The Feinstein College of Education (COEDU) at the University of Rhode Island offers a

experience through clinical work in elementary schools throughout RI and

at URI’s NAEYC-accredited Child Development Centers in Kingston and Providence.

Both centers provide high quality lab-school experiences and serve as both
