This collaborative environment offers cutting-edge resources, innovative services, and rich cultural experiences, fostering discovery, interdisciplinary learning, and the advancement of knowledge.PositionThe Graduate Research Assistant will be working on a research project titled ‘Efficiency of ChatGPT to Support Systematic Review Searching Compared to Established Searching Practices’ under the supervision of Janice Kung, Faculty Engagement Librarian. This project will investigate in what ways can ChatGPT improve the efficiency of the search process for systematic reviews, compared to standard database search methods.The appointment will be as a casual, part-time Graduate Research Assistant and based on a minimum of 6 hours per week, from March to June 2025.DutiesTasks related to this opportunity may include but are not limited to:
- Transcribing Interviews: Accurately transcribe recorded interviews with research participants, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to ethical guidelines.
- Coding Data: Systematically code qualitative data using specific software if applicable (e.g., NVivo, ATLAS.ti) and assist with thematic analysis.
- Quantitative and Qualitative Analysis: Conduct statistical and qualitative analyses using appropriate software (e.g., SPSS, R, Python, NVivo) to identify patterns and key findings.
- Report Writing: Assist in drafting research reports, summaries, and academic publications.
- Additional Research Support: Perform literature reviews, maintain data organization, and contribute to research team discussions as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Continuing part-time or full-time student in the MA Humanities Computing, MLIS, MA/MLIS, or MBA/MLIS program.
- Maintained a GPA of 3.5 throughout the academic year.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in transcription and coding techniques.
- Proven experience with systematic review searching.
- Strong research and writing skills with an ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with qualitative and/or quantitative data analysis tools.
- Experience in writing research reports or academic publications.
