We are recruiting for the position of an Intermediate Accountant to join our team in Toronto, Ontario. This role is crucial to our organization, as it involves handling various accounting tasks, including reconciliations and month-end support. The successful candidate will also assist with financial statement preparation and support the development team. This is a contract to permanent employment opportunity in the financial services industry where the use of various accounting software systems and ERP will be necessary.Responsibilities:

• Handle account reconciliations and bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
• Provide month-end support to streamline accounting processes and procedures.
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements to maintain transparency in financial reporting.
• Offer support to the development team to facilitate smooth operations.
• Leverage knowledge of accounting software systems and ERP for efficient account management.
• Monitor and manage accounts payable and receivable to ensure timely transactions.
• Perform account adjustments and analysis as required to maintain account balance.
• Handle account inquiries and resolve any account discrepancies promptly.
• Maintain accounting control to adhere to accounting principles and guidance.
• Participate in the accounting close process to keep the accounting cycle up-to-date.
• Applicant must have 3+ years of experience in an accounting role.
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required.
• Familiarity with ADP – Financial Services is desirable.
• Experience with CaseWare is advantageous.
• Knowledge of ERP – Enterprise Resource Planning is a must.
• Applicant should be familiar with Great Plains (GPAC).
• Ability to handle all Accounting Functions is required.
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is necessary.
• Auditing skills are a prerequisite.
• Ability to manage Cash Activity is essential.
• Proficiency in Account Adjustments and Account Analysis is required.
• Skills in Account Balance and Account Creation are necessary.
• Ability to handle Account Discrepancies and Account Inquiries is a must.
• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation and Account Management is required.
• Ability to manage Account Transactions is necessary.
• Knowledge of Accounting close process is required.
• Familiarity with Accounting Control and Accounting cycle is a must.
• Proficiency in creating Accounting Entries is required.
• Familiarity with Accounting Guidance and Accounting Literature is a must.
• Understanding of Accounting Principles is required.
• Experience with Accounting services and Accounting Systems is advantageous.
• Knowledge of Accounting Theory is necessary.
• Ability to manage Aging Accounts is required.
• Proficiency in Asset Accounting is a must.
• Familiarity with Balance Sheet Account and Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation is required.
• Skills in Bank Account Reconciliation are necessary.
• Experience with Corporate Account and Corporate Accounting is required.
• Proficiency in Cost Accounting is a must.
• Familiarity with Credit card accounting is necessary.
