Major Responsibilities:
The Program Support Trainee will assist divisional staff with general office duties as it relates to the program area. Duties could include the following:

Assists with various divisional programs and office functions.
-
Assists with collecting data and assembling information packages for various projects/assignments/operations.
-
Locates, searches, records, photographs, inputs data, field notes, sketches, etc.
-
Travels to various locations and/or attends special events with staff to distribute and provide information and answer general questions.
-
Assists with packing, delivering, setting up displays, equipment, supplies, etc.
-
Provides information, documents requests/findings for information and directs inquiries to appropriate staff to answer questions/handle requests.
Key Qualifications:
Your application must describe your qualifications as they relate to:

Post-secondary education in a discipline pertinent to the job function (i.e. business, research, marketing, or other relevant field), or an approved combination of education and experience.

Experience engaging with the public and providing front-line customer service, responding to inquiries in person, on the telephone and through email.
-
Experience working in a professional office environment providing administrative support & maintaining accurate records.
-
Experience with computer applications including MS 365 Office Suite.
You must also have:
-
Good understanding of small business and entrepreneur activities including business planning, relevant legislation/regulations, analyzing tread and data, financing, basic principles of accounting, marketing, staffing and business operations will be an asset.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, clients, and the public.

Good organizational and problem-solving skills.
-
Ability to work under time constraints and meet deadlines.
-
Ability to work independently and cooperatively within a team setting.
-
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
-
It is an asset to have intermediate or advanced knowledge in SharePoint, Excel, andWord.
-
It is an asset of knowledge in project management methodologies and Lean Six Sigma.

Ability to travel to other City work locations as required.
