Application Deadline: June 20, 2025We are recruiting on behalf of a technology leader in emergency response and telecommunications, developing next-generation 911 call-handling and VOIP solutions. Their software is used in mission-critical environments where accuracy, speed, and reliability save lives. Based in Montreal, this organization is seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer (Java) to join their expanding engineering team.Must-Have Skills & Experience:8+ years of professional software development experience (5+ is the minimum acceptable)Strong experience in Java, with solid knowledge of the full SDLCDeep understanding of VOIP and SIP protocol development, including call flow logicPrevious experience working on 911 systems or emergency call-routing platformsComfortable working in Linux environmentsFamiliarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git)Effective communication skills and experience in cross-functional teamsPreferred Skills:Experience with Spring Boot, .NET, React, or AngularKnowledge of databases such as Oracle, SQL, or NoSQLExposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS)Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like TerraformBackground in telecommunications or public safety systemsQualifications:Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience️ Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain software applications for emergency response systemsImplement and enhance VOIP/SIP communication protocols and call routing logicCollaborate with product managers, designers, and QA to align on technical and functional goalsWrite clean, maintainable code with proper documentationDevelop unit and integration tests and support QA with troubleshooting and defect resolutionParticipate in Agile ceremonies: daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectivesUse Git and modern development tools to manage codebase effectively
