Term of App’t: Two-year term until August 13, 2027 (50% release time)Start Date: August 15, 2025Reporting to: Dean of Academic & Vocational ProgramsSalary:An annual stipend of $3,127.00, in accordance with BCGEU Faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement.Description:This is a two-year term position, with the possibility of extension to August 15, 2028. Reporting to the Dean, the Chair provides educational leadership for the Business Management and University Arts & Sciences (UNAS) programs throughout NLC’s region.The Chair is responsible for fostering excellence in teaching, scholarship, service, and student advising within the department. Key responsibilities include program quality assurance, leading department curriculum matters, planning, assessment, regulatory compliance, student affairs, and adherence to college policies. The Chair supports and coordinates the department team, promoting collaboration and professional growth to ensure effective operation.This role requires close collaboration with the NLC Chair team to ensure year-round departmental coverage.Qualifications:Required:

  • Must be a current regular employee of Northern Lights College
  • Completion of a relevant graduate degree (Master’s or PhD)
  • Minimum of five years of instructional experience at the post-secondary level in relevant programs
  • Demonstrable commitment to educational leadership
  • Proven excellence in written and verbal communication
  • Strong team-building and consultative leadership skills

Preferred:

  • Not currently receiving course release for another appointed position
  • Willingness to coordinate vacation time to ensure Chair coverage during June – August, including academic year start-up (to be determined in collaboration with the successful candidate)
