Our client is a top financial institution with significant North American holdings. They have operations across most major verticals, including institutional & corporate, wealth management, private client, commercial banking, treasury, and retail banking.Introduction: Robertson is seeking a skilled User Experience (UX) Designer to join our client.Contract Period: 6 months with potential to extend or convert
Pay Rate: Starting from $50 per hour
Location: Toronto, ON
Location Type: Hybrid; 3 days onsite
Business Hours: Monday to Friday; 9 AM to 5 PMJob Responsibilities:
- Digital Design: Primarily designing B2B web experiences or native applications across desktop, tablet, and mobile
- User-Centered Design Process: Guide the organization through design exploration and lead the execution of experience strategies – ensuring alignment with user needs, business goals, and accessibility criteria in the design process
- User Research: Conduct user research to create detailed user personas, journey maps, and service blueprints that inform experience improvements and product roadmap prioritization
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with product managers and stakeholders in marketing, technology, distribution etc. to align on experience strategies
- Design Assets: Deliver high-quality design artifacts (ex. wireframes and flow diagrams) and coach others to the same level
- User Testing: Synthesize and communicate findings from user tests to inform and refine design solutions that are user-centric and aligned with business objectives
- Design System Development: Apply a common design system to maintain consistency in visual and interactive elements across platforms, while conducting regular audits to ensure adherence
- Experience Vision Execution: Drive critical initiatives that elevate the quality and impact of product design to align with company goals
- Continuous Learning: Update and share your knowledge of next-generation user experiences, emerging technologies, and innovative process practices
Experience & Qualification Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 8+ years of product design experience
- Business Acumen: Experience working in financial services
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in design tools such as, Figma, and Adobe Creative Suite. Strong understanding of user experience (UX) principles
- Familiarity with web standards (W3C and Section 508)
- Front-end development standard methodologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus
- Portfolio: A strong portfolio highlighting a range of design projects that illustrates your process, your level of craft, and the results of successful digital products and services that you delivered
- Accessibility Expertise: Demonstrated experience with accessibility guidelines and standards, including WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) and AODA (Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act)
- Human-Centered Design: High proficiency in human-centered design principles, visual design theory, usability, and accessibility
- End-to-End Design Process: Deep understanding of the end-to-end digital product design process – including user research, user flows, content modeling, wireframing, prototyping, user validation, and high-fidelity visuals
- Design Systems and Tools: Experience with design systems and tools such as Figma, Mural, and UserTesting.com. Experience in Adobe Experience Manager or Adobe Platforms is an asset
- Technical Familiarity: Familiarity with technical constraints and limitations for designing across digital platforms such as desktop and mobile (Android and iOS)
- Agile Approaches: Must have familiarity with agile, iterative approaches focused on business and adoption outcomes to bring digital customer experiences to market quickly with the ability to release frequently and validate continuously
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in design, visual communications, HCI-human-computer interaction, or a related field (or equivalent industry training/experience)
