Location: Montreal, Canada (Onsite)Duration: 12 monthsRate: $70-75/hr on W2Core Responsibilities:

• As an experienced Automation Engineer, you will work with a global team to analyze, design, plan, and deploy automation for toil reduction/elimination.
• Transform existing systems into Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Configuration as Code (CaC), and Monitoring as Code (MaC) using enterprise solutions and best practices.
• Implement anomaly and fault detection to improve service stability, security, and overall service levels.
• Reimagine and build the next-generation secure and mission-critical email infrastructure for a global financial organization.
• Collaborate with a diverse, global team.
• Provide architecture assurance on messaging initiatives.
• Maintain a secure environment by implementing risk mitigation controls.
• Offer consultancy services to IT Security teams.
• Develop automated metrics reporting capabilities.
• Maintain documentation including publishing fixes in a centralized knowledge base.

Qualifications and Skills:Technical Skills:

• Unix Networking
• Familiarity with SDLC concepts and toolsets (Git, Jenkins, ALM)
• Knowledge of Agile principles and DevOps practices
• Intermediate or above in:

• Automation (Ansible)
• GNU/Linux OS and GNU tools
• Infrastructure protocols: DNS, LDAP, NTP, SNMP, SMTP
• SMTP email protocols and standards: SMTP, DMARC, DKIM, SPF
• Python and Shell scripting (programmer mindset)
• Familiarity with email security techniques (anti-malware, anti-spam)

Soft Skills:

• Self-learner
• Strong communication
• Effective team player

Preferred Professional Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in management information systems, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience
• 8+ years with RHEL/Linux systems
• 5+ years scripting with Python and/or Bash
• 3+ years automating with Ansible
• Experience with SDLC tools: Git, Jira, ALM, Jenkins
• Strong Linux system administration experience
• Working knowledge of Networking, DNS, LDAP, SSL/TLS
• Experience with large-scale SMTP email gateway deployment
• Familiarity with email hygiene and authentication frameworks: DMARC, DKIM, SPF
• Automation using Ansible
