On behalf of our Public Sector Client, Ignite Technical Resources is recruiting for a Chief Program Officer – Workday HCMS Transformation to join our Client’s team on a Contract basis. This role is Hybrid and the Client is based in Vancouver, BC.Summary of the Role
Our client is undertaking a province-wide implementation of Workday Human Capital Management System (HCMS) across major BC organizations. This executive-level role will lead the transformation initiative, replacing legacy HR systems with a standardized SaaS platform for Core HR, Talent, and Payroll. The successful candidate will also mentor and upskill a designated leader to take over as Chief Program Officer by April 1, 2026.Duties & ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic and operational leadership of the Workday HCMS transformation across multiple organizations.Oversee program governance, risk management, change management, and execution of strategy.Collaborate directly with Workday implementation partners and internal stakeholders.Navigate political and organizational dynamics to drive program success.Mentor and develop internal talent to transition into the Chief Program Officer role.Ensure alignment with broader digital health strategies in the province.Core RequirementsMaster’s degree in computing science, business administration, information systems, or related field.15+ years of experience in complex HCMS/ERP environments.10+ years in senior leadership roles.Proven enterprise-level Workday SaaS HRM implementation experience.PMP certification or equivalent program/project management experience.Desired Skills & ExperienceExperience with BC’s health sector and provincial HR systems.Direct collaboration experience with Workday and large consulting firms.Experience mentoring executives into C-level roles.Familiarity with provincial digital health strategies.Political acumen and stakeholder influence capabilities.Terms
This is a 7-month contract position. The work arrangement is Hybrid, with details to be determined, though the Client prefers BC-based consultants and occasional in-person meetings may be required. Candidates are expected to use their own hardware.
