TERM ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN POSITIONING, NAVIGATION & TIMING
The Department of Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering at the University of New Brunswick invites applications for a 1-year term position in Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering at the rank of Assistant Professor. The appointment will commence on 1 January 2026 and is subject to budgetary approval.
Qualifications for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor include a Ph.D. in Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering or a related field. Candidates who are nearing completion of their doctorate in Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering may be considered for appointment at the rank of Lecturer. The successful candidate should have experience teaching Geodesy or Geomatics subjects at an undergraduate level, ideally in the fields of positioning, navigation, geodesy, or adjustment calculus, and will be required to teach courses that may include GGE 4211: Geodesy II, GGE 3122: Advanced Adjustments, GGE 5042/6042: Kinematic Positioning, or similar subjects. The candidate may pursue research activities related to simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM), positioning, navigation and timing (PNT) in the summer term, and they will be expected to teach a minimum of 4 courses during the appointment.
The salary range and fringe benefits for this position are defined in the Association of University of New Brunswick Teachers (AUNBT) 2022 – 2025 Collective Agreement sections 35 and 36B.
