about this team
The Global Trade Compliance team plays a critical role within lululemon’s supply chain, supporting import and export operations across the company’s global network. The team enables lululemon’s success by ensuring timely and efficient customs clearance, implementing duty‑optimization strategies, and maintaining strict adherence to international trade laws and regulations. The Global Trade Compliance Specialist is a key contributor to these efforts, responsible for supporting essential compliance and trade‑optimization activities, including tariff classification, trade agreement qualification, duty recovery, country of origin determination, and valuation.
a day in the life
This position supports the Global Trade Compliance team by ensuring cross‑border activities operate efficiently and in accordance with applicable regulations, while proactively identifying, assessing, and managing trade‑related risks and opportunities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support the organization’s day-to-day global trade compliance activities, ensuring adherence to all applicable regulatory and procedural requirements as required.
- Conduct research and provide guidance on key import compliance functions, including HTS classification, country of origin determination, valuation, duty recovery, and related regulatory considerations.
- Research, evaluate, and analyze opportunities for process improvement to enhance compliance, efficiency, and operational performance.
- Collaborate effectively with internal and external teams to facilitate compliant and efficient cross‑border operations.
- Contribute to the planning, execution, and maintenance of trade compliance projects, programs, and continuous‑improvement initiatives as required.
qualifications
- 1–2 years of relevant experience in global trade compliance or customs operations, preferably within a complex import/export environment.
- Experience in the apparel or textile sector—within a retail organization, customs brokerage, or consulting firm—is considered an asset.
- Strong analytical and investigative skills, with the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and consistently deliver high‑quality results.
- Hands‑on experience preparing and submitting customs adjustments and communicating with government authorities, demonstrating accuracy and regulatory understanding.
- Proficiency in Excel (intermediate to advanced) with the ability to analyze and manipulate large sets of data
- Prior experience with a Global Trade Management Platform (GTMP) and professional trade certifications (CCS, CTCS, or Licensed Customs Broker) are considered assets.

compensation and benefits package
lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $66,000 – $86,600 annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
