Campus: St. George (Downtown) Description:Course Description: Introduces students to the Canadian legal system focusing on business entities, the structure of the Canadian court system, the various elements of contract law and the law of negligence.Position Description: All normal duties related to the design, administration and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; supervision of teaching assistants; development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and examinations; calculation and submission of grades to university officials; holding regular student office hours and maintaining reasonable availability for student contact. Instructor will also be responsible to report to and provide deliverables as set out or requested by the course co-ordinator from time to time.
Qualification:Required qualifications are a LL.B./J.D. degree and professional experience practicing Ontario corporate commercial law. Preferred qualifications are previous experience teaching Legal Environment of Business at the university level in a degree granting program; proven teaching excellence; demonstrated mastery of subject area and recent professional experience practicing Ontario corporate commercial law. Academic qualifications at a master or higher level would also be viewed as a positive attribute.Class Schedule: Courses may be online or in-person depending on the circumstances, so candidates must be available and comfortable with both.
