As part of this commitment, we are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and experienced Academic Transition Program Developer to evaluate and redesign an innovative program that supports the transition of non-traditional learners into post-secondary education. Reporting to the Associate Deans Academic of the College of Arts and the College of Social and Applied Human Sciences, the Academic Transition Program Developer is responsible for evaluating and enhancing the current Academic Transition Program (ATP) at the University of Guelph. The current model of the ATP at The University of Guelph provides an opportunity for mature students who do not meet the normal University admission requirements to take university courses and develop foundational academic skills before applying to a degree program.The Academic Transition Program Developer will be responsible for evaluating the current academic transition program and creating an implementation plan for a revised ATP that supports new and current students to navigate their academic journey, build essential university success skills and develop a sense of belonging on campus. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by nontraditional learners and will apply their expertise to develop components within the Academic Transition Program that promote student success, retention, and engagement. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to engage with various stakeholders, and a willingness to travel frequently to nurture off campus relationships.Duties and Responsibilitiesa.
