Your future starts now at Empower Simcoe!We are presently accepting resumes for an Accommodations Program Associate Summer Student to provide administrative support to the accommodations department. This is a full-time position starting as soon as April 21, 2025 for approximately 4-5 months. This position works up to 37.5 hours biweekly with an hourly rate of pay of $21.11. Please note that this position is contingent upon funding approval through the Federal Government Canada Summer Jobs program.Minimum requirements of this position include:

  • Completion of secondary school and enrolled in post-secondary education in a closely related field of education which may include business/office administration, Human Resources or legal administration, or other closely related fields;
  • Related experience is an asset;
  • A valid class G driver’s license and reliable transportation is an asset;

Overview of Duties (including, but not limited to):

  • Providing administrative duties and support to the Accommodations Department;
  • Prepare and maintain purchase orders and purchase order log; recording invoices to PO’s as needed;
  • Create, maintain and distribute emergency contact lists;
  • Prepare p-card statements; maintain p-card receipts and code for department employees as required;
  • Receiving and directing all incoming calls, receiving and directing all inquiries and appointments, booking of meeting rooms and equipment, sorting and distributing incoming mail;
  • Assist the program with reporting information and statistics to funders as required;
  • Create operational guidelines on PolicyTech regarding job related duties and assist Manager(s) as required;
  • Utilizing Excel, create and maintain spreadsheets for tracking data to assist in identifying trends and summarizing data for inclusion in reports;
  • To liaison with different departments in providing appropriate distribution of documentation;
  • To keep abreast of Manager(s) and Supervisors schedules in order to provide assistance to staff who need to contact them;
  • Performing other duties, special assignments as required by the Manager or persons above that rank
