We’re looking for an on-site Contract Accountant in the professional services industry.Our client is a respected organization based in Edmonton with a reputation for reliability, integrity, and a supportive team culture. They are seeking an experienced Accountant to join their team on a long-term contract basis. The Contract Accountant will play an important role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting day-to-day accounting functions.Contract Accountant responsibilities:

• Manage full-cycle accounting including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting
• Support month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare and review financial statements and reports
• Handle accounts payable and receivable duties
• Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with internal procedures
• Collaborate with internal teams and provide financial insight as needed

The successful candidate has:

• 3 or more years of hands-on accounting experience
• A strong understanding of full-cycle accounting principles
• High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
• A professional, flexible, and team-oriented approach

Compensation and benefits:

• The discussed rate is $25 – $40 per hour depending on experience
• Candidates with additional experience and higher compensation expectations may also be considered
• Long-term contract with full-time hours

• Potential for contract extension
