Salary: $23-$27/hour
Express is recruiting for an Accounts Receivable Associate on behalf of our Windsor client.
Responsibilities of the Accounts Receivable Associate include:
- Support the Sales Representatives who are responsible for the management and payment collections of their customer portfolio.
- Collaborate with Sales Representatives and internal departments to resolve account disputes in order to collect balances on a timely basis.
- Review and release orders on “credit hold” after a thorough review of an account’s status.
- Promptly respond to customer related inquiries and provide requested information to expedite account collection.
- Accurately apply payments to customer accounts and investigate any discrepancies with invoice balances.
- Prepare and balance the daily deposit and complete related reporting.
- Analyze the daily aging of Accounts Receivable and develop strategies in conjunction with Sales Representatives, to achieve collection targets.
- Examine customer payment trends to assess credit limits.
- Research and process approved account adjustments required to settle account difference.
- Assess new customer applications and complete the required account set up and credit review.
- Maintain the completeness and accuracy of customer master files, ensuring information is current and up to date.
- Engage third party collection agencies when management has determined that internal collection strategies have been exhausted.
- Distribute customer statements electronically on a monthly basis.
- Prepare reports and distribute information on accounts receivable on a regular basis.
- Assist with monthly and quarterly reporting requirements.
- Perform other job-related tasks and projects as assigned.
Required experience of the Accounts Receivable Associate includes:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3 to 5 years accounts receivable/ collections experience required
- Ability to handle and deal with conflict resolution skills in order to handle late payments and delinquent accounts
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and an ability to identify potential collection issues.
- Detail orientation while being highly organized and efficient.
- Ability to work independently and as a team to achieve department objectives.
- Professional demeanor with the ability to influence and collect outstanding balances.
- High degree of confidentiality when dealing with customers and information.
- Exceptional customer service, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Compensation and Hours of the Accounts Receivable Associate include:
- Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm
- Pay Range: $23/hr – $27/hr
