AAE is responsible for the solicitation, acceptance and administration of all donations to SFU.About the RoleThe Advancement Officer, Proposals and Stewardship contributes to the creation of compelling donor solicitation materials and comprehensive impact reports that inspire philanthropic support and strengthen donor relationships. This position collaborates with internal stakeholders to craft documents that effectively communicate SFU’s funding priorities, highlight donor impact, and express gratitude for contributions. By bridging the gap between complex academic initiatives and donor interests, this role ensures all materials align with SFU’s brand and strategic goals, fostering meaningful connections with donors at all levels.The ideal candidate is a writer and communications specialist at heart, with a very keen eye for detail when compiling university-level documents. Candidates should have a natural ability to collaborate well with multiple stakeholders, accurately determine the needs of team members and quickly produce donor solicitation materials on behalf of SFU. Ideal applicants should have a strong background in fundraising and donor engagement practices.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or a relevant discipline, and four years of related experience in a fundraising environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to creatively develop programs to uniquely recognize donors to the university.
