The departments within the School are located on our Grande Prairie campus and our Fairview campus. The School offers a variety of programming in Fine Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, Sciences, and Animal Health Technology. Through this programming, we offer a variety of certificates, diplomas, university transfer courses, as well as a degree in computing science.The RoleThe Humanities and Social Sciences Department requires an Anthropology Instructor to teach a range of undergraduate-level courses across the four fields of anthropology (socio-cultural, linguistic, biological, archaeological). The successful candidate will teach a 5/4 load in the fall and winter terms. Instruction will take place on our Grande Prairie campus.The courses to be taught are

• Introductory Anthropology (three sections)
• Introduction to Biological Anthropology
• Introduction to Archaeology
• Introduction to Social and Cultural Anthropology
• World Prehistory
• Indigenous and Cultural Minorities in the Modern World
• Fantastical Archaeology: Ancient Aliens to Atlantis

Evidence of successful post-secondary instruction is an asset. Necessary skills and attributes to be successful in this role include:

• Ability to apply different instructional strategies to meet the needs of and support diverse learners;
• Knowledge of Northwestern Polytechnic courses and current educational technologies (e.g., videoconferencing, learning management systems);
• Student-focussed;
• Strong organizational skills;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and
• A high level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
