Course Description:

Supervision of practicum is required in all four school boards in the Ottawa/Carleton and Eastern Ontario area. Faculty Supervisor (PED 4200 professor) provides support to associate teachers and teacher candidates. Facilitation of discussion groups delivered in a team teaching format on alternating weeks Thursdays 10:00-11:20 am

There will be an online orientation session (1.5 hours) and an in-person planning session (4.5 hours) for up to six hours of total time in the month of June. These two sessions enable us to discuss shared programmatic priorities and policies and enable colleagues teaching the same sections to harmonize their syllabi.

Requirements:

Master’s degree in education; Qualification in a field related to teaching in schools in Ontario; Recent experience in teaching in a school or working in administration of a school board at the Primary Junior level; Knowledge of the current Ontario Curriculum and of the Ethical Standards and Standards of Practice of the Ontario College of Teachers. The University may consider experience or qualifications equivalent to those set out above.
