A Master’s degree in Education is required; preference will be given to a Ph.D. in Education; At least one of the following: Recent full-time teaching experience in a school or administrative role within a school board, including two years of implementing the Ontario Curriculum in Special Education at the Primary/Junior level with a specialist qualification in Special Education, OR A current and peer-reviewed research portfolio in Special Education, OR A recent comprehensive examination (Ph.D.) in Special Education; Demonstrated knowledge of the current Ontario Curriculum related to Special Education and the Ontario Ministry of Education documents pertaining to Special Education; Proven ability to apply the Standards of Practice for the Teaching Profession and the Ethical Standards of the Ontario College of Teachers. The University may consider equivalent experience or qualifications to those mentioned above.
