Course Description:

Explores the research and classroom practice of themes within International Development including health and nutrition, basic education, HIV/AIDS, child protection, gender equality, infrastructure services, human rights, democracy and good governance, private sector development, and environment; considers the implications of integrating these themes into the mainstream curriculum.

There will be an online orientation session (1.5 hours) and an in-person planning session (4.5 hours) for up to six hours of total time in the month of June. These two sessions enable us to discuss shared programmatic priorities and policies and enable colleagues teaching the same sections to harmonize their syllabi

Requirements:

Masters degree in education; Qualification in a field related to teaching in schools in Ontario; Recent experience in teaching in a school or working in administration of a school board at the Primary Junior level; Knowledge of the current Ontario Curriculum and of the Ethical Standards and Standards of Practice of the Ontario College of Teachers. The University may consider experience or qualifications equivalent to those set out above.
