About the Common law Section of the Faculty of Law
Over the past 20 years, the Common Law Section of the Faculty of Law at the University of Ottawa has become a national and global leader in many fields. position Purpose:
The Assistant Dean, Research is responsible for managing all facets of the research office at the Faculty of Law including human resources, budgets, pre-award management, marketing and promotion, postdoctoral fellows, visiting researchers, visiting professors (with a research agenda), identification of research prizes and support for promotion of candidates, and interface with the Graduate Studies Office.
Develop and implement medium to long-term strategies in relation to academic and non-academic research funding opportunities, partnership development, research communications and outreach activities, with a view to strategically leveraging and increasing research intensity and maintaining the position of the Faculty of Law as a world-class research institution.
The purpose of the role is to impact on the Faculty of Law’s ability to obtain and effectively manage external research funds entrusted to it, the ability of its faculty members to successfully fund and carry out their research programs, to enhance the image of the Faculty of Law as a research-intensive institution and to offer an enriching learning environment for graduate students.
