Assistant Professor, English (3 year term)

The Department of English at the University of Lethbridge invites applications from scholars of the long eighteenth century who will contribute to the breadth of the department’s offerings. This position is for a three-year term Assistant Professor to begin July 1, 2025, subject to budgetary approval. Hiring salary will be in the range of $79,132-$94,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Preference will be given to applicants with a Ph.D. in hand, although applicants who are very near completion of their Ph.D. may also be considered. Our Application Process:
The deadline for applications is March 10, 2025, with in-person interviews to be held shortly thereafter. All applications must be submitted online, and should include a cover letter, a detailed curriculum vitae, a writing sample of no more than twenty-five pages (or one published article), a statement of teaching philosophy, a list of course titles that you could teach and/or would add to the current curriculum, and three letters of reference. Short-listed candidates will be asked to bring a sample syllabus for a course on the long eighteenth century at the 3rd-year level to the interview.
