ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION STUDIES,
ONE YEAR LIMITED TERM APPOINTMENT

The Faculty of Education (https://www.wlu.ca/academics/faculties/faculty-of-education/index.html) at Wilfrid Laurier University (https://www.wlu.ca/) invites applications for a Limited Term Appointment faculty position in International Education Studies at the rank of Assistant Professor in Education beginning July 1, 2025 (ending June 30, 2026), subject to budgetary approval. Teaching duties will be assigned on our Waterloo campus.

The position is open to candidates who hold a completed PhD in Education or EdD, by the start of the appointment. A person with significant experience in international education with a Master’s degree will be considered.

The duties and responsibilities of the position are as follows:
• teach core courses in the International Education Studies (Bachelor of Arts) program.
• engage in an active research program related to pre-service teacher education in International Education Studies.
• collaborate with colleagues in the Faculty of Education and Faculty of Arts
• engage in leadership and active service to the Faculty and the University, including program development and support on the Waterloo campus.

Successful candidates must:
• provide evidence of effective teaching related to International Education Studies in a post-secondary teacher education context.
• provide evidence of teaching diverse groups of learners and incorporating equity and inclusion into their pedagogy and practices.
• have a minimum of three years of professional experience (teaching, leadership) in international schools or organizations which support international education
• provide evidence of an emerging research program in areas of International Education Studies such as international schools and/or international/comparative education.

Preference will be given to candidates who have:
• teaching qualifications, with preference given to candidates holding Ontario College of Teachers certification.
• teaching experience in a variety of elementary school grades.
• teaching experience in International Baccalaureate programs.
