About the Department
The Department of Political Science is a vibrant and collegial department with roughly 200 majors and a dozen MA students, offering Minors, Majors, Honours concentrations in International Development and Public Law, and Honours Co-ops in Political Science and Public Policy and Administration. Political Science houses specialists in Canadian Politics, Comparative Politics, International Relations, Public Policy and Administration, and Political Theory, and combines a strong commitment to teaching—including experiential learning—with a culture of research excellence. Our award-winning faculty also participate in several transdisciplinary and interdisciplinary programs, including Social Justice and Equity Studies (SJES), the Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Humanities, and Forensic Psychology and Criminal Justice (FPAC).
About the position
The Department of Political Science at Brock University invites applicants for a 12-month limited term appointment in International Relations at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning July 1, 2025. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to and participate in Political Science’s undergraduate and Master’s programs.
Qualifications
We seek candidates for the Department of Political Science with a PhD in Political Science at the time of appointment, with a specialization in international relations focusing on international security and global governance. In addition to an active record of scholarship in this area, the successful candidate must have evidence of, or strong potential for, teaching excellence.
