ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY:
Applications are invited for a tenure track position in English. As a small, student-centered undergraduate university, we need an effective, versatile instructor able to teach survey courses and special topic courses in Medieval and/or Early Modern Literature, or Canadian and/or Commonwealth literature. We welcome diverse sub-specialties, such as Indigenous or global literatures, drama or other genre studies, post-colonial studies, and creative writing. In keeping with our Collective Agreement, the successful candidate will select either research-stream (3/3 course load) or teaching-stream (4/4 course load).
Main responsibilities for this position will include:
• Instruction and assessment of students in the relevant course content, adhering to learning outcomes
• Willingness to work in a student success oriented setting
• Maintain excellent communication with students and colleagues
• Supervise students in their senior projects (English 401)
• Participate, contribute, and show initiative in program development
• Meeting the requirements for teaching, research, and service
APPOINTMENT START DATE: July 1, 2026
QUALIFICATIONS
• PhD in Literature (must have by date of appointment)
• Previous teaching experience
• Record of research and publication or strong potential (if applying for research-stream)
