Integrative Exercise Physiology
The School of Kinesiology in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Western University promotes the benefits of physical activity and sport to society by providing a multidisciplinary approach to discovery, dissemination, and application of related knowledge and outcomes. The School of Kinesiology champions three research clusters focusing on Physical Activity and 1) Brain Health, 2) Mobility, and 3) Social Impact with strong links to Faculty Research Centres in Activity and Aging, and Health Equity and Social Inclusion.
We are seeking a probationary (tenure-track) faculty colleague at the rank of Assistant Professor in Integrative Exercise Physiology. Scholars whose research emphasizes brain-heart interactions in health and/or disease are particularly encouraged. The successful candidate’s research will complement work being done in the Brain Health and Mobility research clusters regarding cardiovascular and exercise biochemistry related to health benefits of physical activity across the lifespan. The ideal candidate will be an innovative thinker prepared to work in interdisciplinary environments, demonstrate potential for excellence in research, with a strong prospective of securing external research funding and produce high quality scholarly/creative outputs aligned with one or more of the Faculty of Health Sciences Research Centres/Groups. The successful candidate will be expected to teach existing courses while also developing new courses in the School that extend the curriculum and will also be expected to supervise graduate students.

The successful candidate will also be expected to participate in relevant service to the School of Kinesiology, Faculty of Health Sciences, and the University, and have a demonstrated capacity to contribute substantively to an inclusive and diverse academic community.
Candidates must either hold a PhD in Kinesiology, or a related field. In addition, the impact of certain circumstances that may legitimately affect a candidate’s teaching and research will be given careful consideration. Candidates are encouraged to provide any relevant information about their experience and/or career interruptions.
The effective date of the appointment is July 1, 2025, or as negotiated. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
