About the Department
The Brock University Nursing Department is home to two Nursing Programs, (1)a direct entry, four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN), and (2) a concurrent Bachelor of Nursing and Master of Nursing (BNMN). The BNMN is unique to Brock as it is the only program of its kind in the country. The BScN program offers extensive lab and clinical experiences and has a student population of approximately 800.
About the Position
The Faculty of Applied Health Sciences and Department of Nursing at Brock University are pleased to invite Registered nurses with a completed or near completed PhD in nursing, or a completed DNP, DNS or PhD in a related field to submit an application for one of two full-time, probationary tenure-track positions-Teaching Intensive Stream, at the rank of Assistant Professor with or a start date of July 1, 2025. The Teaching intensive stream consists of 60% teaching, 20% research and scholarly activities, and 20% service.
Qualifications
The successful candidates will support teaching needs in the undergraduate and graduate programs. Applicants must hold at least one graduate degree in nursing and have either completed or be nearing completion of a PhD. A strong commitment to Primary Health Care principles, as well as diversity, equity, and inclusion, is essential.
Candidates must demonstrate a proven record of excellence in teaching diverse nursing courses and possess expertise in course development and is expected to provide high-quality instruction. Experience in program evaluation and the scholarship of teaching and learning in nursing education is highly desirable. We especially welcome applicants with a background in teaching large classes. Evidence of successful student supervision at undergraduate and graduate levels is an asset.
Applicants should provide evidence of a developing program of research and be able to demonstrate excellent communication, leadership, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. Relevant clinical experience is required with clinical background in critical care, medical/surgical, pediatrics, obstetrics, or mental health, nursing preferred.
Candidates must be Registered Nurses in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario or be eligible to obtain registration prior to March 1, 2025.
