The Opportunity
The Department of Communication in the Faculty of Fine Arts and Communications invites applications for an entry-level, full-time, tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, commencing July 1, 2026, subject to final budgetary approval. The successful candidate will play a vital role in developing core and option courses for the new Public Relations major.
You will:
• Teach a variety of Public Relations courses or courses within the BCS degree program
• Conduct scholarly research
• Mentor and support students
• Develop curriculum and help promote the Public Relations program
• Participate in service to the department, faculty, university, and community.
Qualifications
You must have, or be close to completion of, a terminal degree in Public Relations or related field and will demonstrate a primary commitment to undergraduate teaching and an ongoing research program. You will submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, teaching dossier (including recent teaching evaluations), statement of research interests, and sample of scholarly work. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted by the Department Chair to provide three (3) letters of reference sent directly from referees. Only selected candidates will be required to submit official transcripts sent directly from the institutions where you completed your degrees. Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience. New hires will normally be placed within the first 8 steps of the Assistant Professor salary table.
