The University of Rhode Island’s College of Business invites applications for a full-time assistant teaching professor in Finance, beginning in the Fall 2025 semester. Appointment is for academic year 2025-2026, starting in Fall 2025. This position is renewable annually based on the faculty’s performance evaluation and contingent on funding.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The faculty member will teach courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The faculty member will actively participate in university, professional and community service and outreach activities.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

1. An MBA degree or Master’s degree related to Finance.

2. Record of effective teaching.

3. Demonstrated excellence in oral communication skills.

4. Demonstrated excellence in written communication skills.

5. Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills.

6. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.

7. Demonstrated commitment to actively participate in service and outreach activities.

Preferred Qualifications: (Preference will be given to candidates who):

1. Have a CFP designation and have experience in developing CFP-related curriculum.

2. Possess relevant finance industry experience (preferably 20+ years) and management experience to enhance teaching, service, networking and student advising.

3. Have strong connections with the industry to support student internship advising.

4. Have experience in online teaching.
