Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?Support the Director of Electronic Trading Supervision, providing cross asset governance and oversight of Global Markets Electronic Trading businesses to meet internal/regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Delegated Supervisory responsibilities within Global Markets, primarily in relation to Electronic Trading.What will you do?Support the Director of Electronic Trading Supervision with management reporting activities and committee pack creation, including preparation of electronic trading management information, such as key risk indicators and key performance indicatorsExecute supervisory activity as part of the Electronic Trading Supervisory programmeEnsure effective implementation, sustainability and oversight of designated FO Supervisory and Risk Management controls within Global Markets, specifically relating to Electronic Market Access and regulatory requirementsWork alongside front-office and technology teams to understand how electronic trade flows are controlledInventory and assess the effectiveness of automated controls in those trade flowsIdentify risks, enhancement opportunities and make recommendations to strengthen controlsFoster, develop and maintain strong working relationships with business management and control colleagues across RBC such as legal, compliance, risk, audit, regulators and technology control functions.Anticipate and proactively seek out future challenges to ensure future-proofing electronic trading activityEscalate, manage and report control issues succinctly, with clarity and transparency.Create a proactive risk and control culture that leverages proven evaluation strategies and sound change management protocolsWhat you need to succeed?Basic Qualifications (Legislative Requirement) – MUST HAVEAt least 3 years’ experience in a global markets business/setting, or equivalent experience in a management consultancy/advisory capacityFamiliarity with electronic trading activity, including risks and expected controlsSolid understanding of financial markets, with strong product knowledge of Macro and SpreadExperience completing process walkthroughs, and identifying, documenting and assessing controlsExperience handling, analyzing and using large datasets to achieve business outcomesSolid understanding of financial markets and broad awareness of global regulatory frameworksUnderstanding large and complex application development projectsFluency with key risk areas such as operational, technology and regulatory riskComfortable working in a fast paced environmentAbility to collaborate and manage projects in a complex matrixed organizationExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work under pressure, responding to demanding stakeholders with time sensitive deadlinesKeen attention to detailOther Required Qualifications:Ability to work with ambiguity and navigate a highly regulated environmentExperience leading complex global cross-business projectsProject management certifications and strong knowledge of Agile delivery methodologiesSuggested Qualifications:Leadership behaviors – Drive to Impact, Adapt Quickly, Always Learn, Speak up for the good of RBCWhat’s in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
