MI Students specialize in Archives and Records Management, Culture and Technology, Critical Information Policy, Human-Centred Data Science Information Systems and Design, Knowledge Management and Information Management, Library and Information Sciences, or User Experience Design.The Registrarial and Student Services team is the student-facing administrative unit that consists of Recruitment and Admissions, Records and Enrolment, Registrarial Financial and Advising Services. Reporting to the Assistant Dean, Registrarial and Student Services, the Associate Registrar Student Advising and Engagement (“Associate Registrar”), provides counselling and guidance to approximately 1100 undergraduate and graduate students in various programs. The Associate Registrar provides graduate and undergraduate academic advising, for all students by providing options and consequences that incorporate personal circumstances and an understanding of an individual’s background, interpreting academic regulations including program and degree requirements, and advising students on program and/or course requirements by providing a range of options and possible consequences.The Associate Registrar’s other major areas of responsibility are Student Experience, Academic Integrity, Petitions & Appeals, Graduating Students, and Communications.The Associate Registrar is responsible for developing, supporting and evaluating student engagement programming delivered by the Office of the Registrar and Student Services (ORSS). These programs create the conditions for the successful transition and engagement of incoming students, current students, and graduating students to University life and beyond, and contribute to their ability to progress through and complete Faculty of Information programs.This role is currently eligible for a hybrid work arrangement, pursuant to University policies and guidelines, including but not limited to the .Your responsibilities will include:
