Actalent is looking for an Avionics System Integrator for our client in the aerospace industry for a long term opportunity in the North Shore Montreal area.Description:You will be working in the Avionics Systems Group as Avionics Systems Integrator. You will be responsible to perform various tasks related to the development, qualification, testing, certification and in-service phases of Avionics systems. You will initially be involved in the conceptual design and preliminary design phases of the Avionics systems of an aircraft program.Your roles and responsibilities will include:

  • Avionics Systems architecture design to meet Aircraft Design Requirements & Objectives.
  • Validation and verification of top-level system requirements.
  • Preparation of requirements documents including technical quotations, system schematics, technical requirement documents (TRD) and statement of work (SOW).
  • Review and negotiation of supplier proposals, coordination and monitoring of suppliers during the development phases
  • Ensuring that the system meets the applicable aircraft system certification requirements (FAR/CS/CAR, RTCA DO-160, DO-178, DO-254, ARP, TSO, etc.)
  • Analyze and approve new system concept proposals and integrate them within the aircraft (including communication, indication and recording, navigation, maintenance systems, auto-flight, etc.).
  • Perform aircraft and system safety analysis, in conjunction with the Reliability, Maintainability & Safety department, including Functional Hazard Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis and Common Mode Analysis.
  • Review and approve the deliverables of the Avionics System Suppliers.
  • Working with other functions & disciplines to provide required information and collect required data to allow the Avionics design, development, integration & certification effort to progress.
  • Supporting other departments such as Production, Procurement, Logistics and Customer Support.
  • Your duties will also include the participation in meetings and reviews with the certification authorities, the review and preparation of ground and flight test plans, qualification and certification plans and documents and also the support of the ground and flight test programs; witnessing of tests may be required.

As our ideal candidate:You possess a Bachelor Degree in aerospace or electrical engineering, or similar; Master’s degree is a plus.Must have at least 10 years of relevant experience with the specification, design, development, integration, test and certification of avionics systems including Flight Management Systems (FMS), autopilot, stall and warning system, communication, navigation, surveillance, indicating and recording systems.Experience in new aircraft development (asset).Must be familiar with FAA Next Gen and EASA SESAR concept.Must have a good knowledge of aircraft communication, navigation & surveillance operational capabilities (FANS/CPDLC, ADS-B, TCAS, TAWS, RNAV/RNP, etc…).Must be familiar with cybersecurity standards for airplanes and aviation equipment.Candidates who are willing to be mentored and developed into becoming a Certifying Authority design approval delegate will be seen as an asset.You must be a team player showing initiative, have a strong sense of responsibility and possess good technical and commercial judgment.Must have a good knowledge of ARP 4754 & 4761 process and requirement management software tools.Must be familiar with RTCA documents DO-160, DO-178, DO-254 and DO-278.Must be familiar with part FAR Part 25 / CAR 525 / EASA CS-25 certification process.À propos d’Actalent:Actalent est un chef de file mondial des services d’ingénierie et de sciences et des solutions de talents.
